Mountain Light Pictures is pleased to announce the addition of Christopher Boyer to the stock agency’s line-up.

Boyer is a photographer, commercial pilot, and trained natural resources professional who specializes in high resolution digital aerial photography. He established his business, Kestrel Aerial Services, Inc., to illustrate and communicate important issues about the changing west. His fine art and documentary photography is shown and published throughout the Northern Rockies.

Mountain Light Pictures is the home of the Galen Rowell Image Collection: stunning photographs from around the world produced by one of the most influential photographers of all time. MLP also represents a growing list of some of the finest working outdoor and nature photographers including Robert Holmes, Linde Waidhofer, Harrison Shull, Dennis Coello, Justin Black, Tony Rowell and Chris Linder.

Outdoor Photographer features T. Rowell article

Outdoor Photographer, July 2009

The July 2009 issue of Outdoor Photographer magazine features a four-page article written by Tony Rowell, The Art of Astrophotography.

The article includes three of Tony’s astronomy images, including Bristlecone Pine and Milky Way, White Mountains; Petroglyphs and stars, Eastern Sierra, California and Tufa rocks and Milky Way, Mono Lake, California.

MIT to host Chris Linder exhibit

The Compton Gallery at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) will host a photography exhibition by Chris Linder, July 11 through January 2010.

According to the MIT website: “Embark on an expedition to the Arctic seafloor. Through photography and other media, this exhibition in the Compton Gallery portrays the expedition to learn more about Arctic undersea mountains. An international team led by the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution plumbed the secrets of the sea, and were captured at work by photographer and MIT alum, Chris Linder.”

New Stock Images at Mountain Light Pictures

Mountain Light Pictures is pleased to announce the addition of Justin Black and Tony Rowell to the stock agency’s expanding line-up.

Recently named the new Director and Chief of Staff for the International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP), Justin will be soon based in his hometown of Washington, D.C. While he’ll be busy with new challenges, he fully intends to keep his camera equipment at his side and capture the scenes that stir his passion.

Bristlecone Pine and Milky Way, White Mountains, Eastern SierraTony Rowell, the youngest of Galen’s two children, found himself immersed in his father’s photography from a young age. Tony began photographing landscapes and wildlife as he joined his father on various adventures into wilderness areas.

Favoring digital SLR cameras, Tony has developed a passion for astrophotography in recent years. “Astronomy is something I’ve always been interested in,” Tony explains. “I just find this one more way to show the beauty we have in this world.”

Mountain Light Pictures is the home of the Galen Rowell Image Collection: stunning photographs from around the world produced by one of the most influential photographers of all time. MLP also represents a growing list of some of the finest working outdoor and nature photographers.
